Videos as Part of your Digital Marketing Strategy

If you are not currently using video as part of your of digital marketing strategy, then you need to start having a serious reconsideration. I’ll to share a series of not-so-secret information with you about developing trends on how you can begin to use videos (if you haven’t already) as an additional tool for promoting your brand and business in 2020 and beyond.

It has been reported that the world watches over 1 billion hours of YouTube videos every day. For one thing, Video is an easy-to-digest format that gives our eyes a rest from the overabundance of textual information online. This is one of the reasons why video is has become very popular.

As a business owner, marketer or business manager, you should have a complete understanding of the advantages of using video as a tool to promote your business and create brand awareness. Aside from using video as a marketing tool, videos can also be used as a tool for communication and providing valuable information about your product and services.

I was recently contacted by a global Magazine brand to do an editorial photoshoot for one of their features in Nigeria, they wanted to know if we can handle the shoot and deliver their expected outcome, I didn’t try too hard to convince them, I just sent them a video of us doing a similar shoot for another global magazine, the feedback was amazing, in their words:

My experience with the Magazine brand is an example of how videos are simplifying sales process and boosting confidence in brands. Videos have not only transformed how businesses market their product and services, but it has also transformed the way salespeople connect with prospects and convert them into paying clients.

Why should you be using videos in your sales and marketing process?

The global business climate is changing, so should your Digital marketing strategy adjust to include the most innovative ways to grab the attention of new prospects online. Here are some of the reason why you should start using video:

Increase awareness about your brand, product and services

If you go the extra mile of producing quality video content for your brand, it will go a long way in creating brand awareness for your business. your customers and viewers who found it interesting will be able to share it across other channels and that will lead to organic brand awareness. 

2. Video is a good way to grab attention

Depending on how the story you are telling with your video is crafted, bear in mind that you have 15 seconds or less to grab the attention of your viewers. Videos done right has the potential to grab attention on the internet. One of the ways to grab attention is to strike an emotional connection with your viewers amongst many.

3. Video has a better and higher conversion rate than text

With videos being about 75% of content consumed on the internet with most of the social media platforms favouring video contents over text. You are able to communicate more information to prospect in a short time as opposed to sending them a long text proposal.

4. People are more likely to share your videos

If your audience find your video interesting or could emotionally connect with it, they are more likely to share it with like-minded individuals 

5. Videos can improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Videos have different ways of complementing your search engine efforts. Because videos keep people longer on your pages, this is a plus because search engines will send more traffic to your pages containing relevant videos to the keywords of the page.

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to spend a fortune to start using video for the purpose of sales and marketing, the video could be as simple as collecting testimonial videos from your satisfied clients and promoting them on social media, and it could be you filming your behind the scene process for your clients to appreciate the effort you put into producing quality work or services for them. 

In conclusion, if you have not been using videos in any form, you should start using different forms of video content to complement your marketing your sales and marketing effort.
