If you haven’t started using email marketing yet, there’s no better time than now.

What hasn’t changed is the effectiveness of email marketing.
According to research, email marketing continues to outperform other digital marketing channels, such as social media and sponsored search.
And, with an average return on investment of $42 for every dollar invested, investing in email marketing can pay off handsomely.
I have noticed from my interactions with small businesses that figuring out how to get started with email marketing is frequently the most difficult part.
To assist you, I have developed a list of things you should do when you first start with email marketing for the first 10 days:
Day 1:
Choose a service provider for email marketing.
If you are serious about email marketing, the first thing to do is to collaborate with an email marketing service provider. Working with a provider is the only method for your company to use email marketing automation to send communications to huge groups of contacts or subscribers.
Professional email templates, tools to help you grow and manage your email list, and tracking capabilities that show you who is opening and engaging with your campaigns and messages are also included.

Day 2:
Collect email addresses for your email marketing list.
On the second day, you need to work on collecting email addresses to send your newsletters and campaigns to. It is usually referred to as an email list.
To begin an email list, most organizations will have some existing contacts. Consider the customers and people with whom you already have a relationship. Perhaps it’s the business connections you email with on a regular basis; perhaps it’s just a few supportive friends and family members.
Don’t give up if you’re starting from scratch when it comes to establishing an email list. Begin by placing a paper sign-up sheet near your register, including an online sign-up form on your website, and encouraging your social media followers and regular clients to join up.
Don’t be lured to buy an email list under any circumstances. Email marketing is all about cultivating relationships; interacting with a smaller list of high-quality contacts will have a greater impact than blasting messages to individuals who don’t even know your company exists.
Day 3:
Fill out your contact list in your email marketing account.
Add your contacts to your email marketing account once you have created an account and a list to send to.
You can begin by importing contacts directly from a Gmail or Outlook account or uploading a contact list from an existing spreadsheet.
Organize your contacts into various lists based on what you know about them, if possible. Create distinct email lists for people who have taken swimming lessons vs those who have attended yoga classes, for example, if you manage a gym.
You can then send them tailored emails based on their individual interests.
Day 4:
Create and setup your welcome email.
Your new email subscribers will receive our welcome email as the first message from you.
Welcome emails are especially crucial since they serve as your initial impression and reach customers at a time when they are already invested in your company. Expect a higher-than-average open rate for your welcome email, so make sure you provide value right away.
Begin with a friendly greeting, then give them a summary of what they may expect from you in the future and provide them something beneficial immediately.
Once configured, your welcome email will be automatically sent to all new contacts.

Day 5:
Create an email template that may be reused.
This is the exciting part! Even if you are not a designer, you can send professionally designed emails that look great on every device.
There are hundreds of email templates available on the internet, including timely designs to help you stand out in the inbox.
When selecting a template, seek for one with a clean, eye-catching layout that will get your point out quickly. People scan their inboxes quickly, frequently while on the go, so choose a mobile-responsive email design that looks beautiful on any device.
Next, personalize your template with your brand by placing your company’s logo at the top of your email and linking the image back to the homepage of your website. Include your company’s trademark colors, as well as a footer with your company name, contact information, and links to your active social media accounts.
Day 6:
Experiment with writing persuasive messages.
This is one of the most frightening phases for business owners. I understand – writer’s block happens to even the best of us.
Pretending I’m having a face-to-face conversation with someone and writing down exactly what I did like to say to them generally pulls me out of it.
It is also beneficial to follow a repeatable method and divide your content into three key sections:
- What do you have to offer? — The headline
- What benefit will it have for the reader? — Body of the message
- So, what should they do now? – Call to action
This easy three-step approach assists you in staying focused so that you can create great messages quickly.
Day 7:
Spend time thinking about subject lines.
One of the most crucial pieces of text in your email is the subject line.
Why is this so? Your subject line is visible to your subscribers even before they open your letter. People will be unable to resist opening if you make a nice first impression. If you write something uninteresting, they may dismiss your letter without giving it a second thought.
Your subject line should be roughly 40 characters long and succinct.
You can pique people’s interest by asking a fascinating question, mentioning a deadline, or simply teasing your message.
Day 8:
Before you send, preview and test your work.
It’s easy to make mistakes with email marketing, especially when you are just getting started.
Perhaps you forgot to include an important link or made an embarrassing spelling error right in the subject line. Oh no! Because there is no Back button in the email, always remember to send yourself or a staff member a Test Email before distributing it to your full list.

Day 9:
Please send your email (at the best time)
When you are ready to send out an email, timing is crucial.
Every audience is unique, and the optimal time to send will vary depending on who is on your email list.
Based on client feedback, we have prepared some data on which day and hour may be optimal for your industry.
You can also establish and stick to a consistent sending schedule. If you send out a newsletter on the first of every month, for example, your readers will start to expect it in their inboxes.
If you do decide to stick to a plan, tell people when they sign up by stating something like:
“Would you like to receive our Hints & Tips newsletter?” On the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, we’ll email you a roundup of our top blog posts, upcoming webinars, and best marketing advice.”
Your subscribers will know when they can expect to hear from you again, and you can plan your message to send according to your predetermined timetable.
Day 10:
Keep track of your progress.
Don’t be fooled: email marketing doesn’t end with a send button. You should keep track of your open rate, click-through rate, unsubscribe rate, and so on, and aim to improve them over time.
If you want to see genuine results from your email marketing, you must first understand how each email performs so that you can make improvements and learn more about your clients and subscribers.
Spending a few minutes reviewing your email statistics will provide you with useful information such as who opened your email, who clicked on specific links, and what material was most intriguing to your readers.
While knowing how engaging your campaign messages are is vital, make sure you’re also tracking actions that occur outside of your emails. How many visits to your contribution page result in actual donations? What is the total amount of money raised as a result of a single email?
These are the kinds of queries that will reveal the true value of your marketing efforts.
